The wolf. Many peoples, who lived from hunting since time immemorial, saw in the wolf a superior competitor to them. The wolf was also revered as a protector and supernatural being. But the wolf has also always been the enemy of man, which is still told in many legends and fairy tales since time immemorial. In this fascinating documentary, filmmaker Julia Huffmann joins renowned nature photographer and filmmaker Jim Brandenburg on a journey to Minnesota, in so-called wolf country, home to one of the largest free-ranging wolf packs in the United States. They set out to find these fascinating animals to tell their story as well. On their journey, the filmmakers portray both people who hate the wolves and those who want to protect them, and thus fathom the fascination of these wonderful animals.
