Peter, a renowned novelist struggling to find inspiration, becomes fixated on the idea of having an assistant. Vincent is hired with the sole purpose of keeping Peter on track and focused on his work. However, as Vincent delves deeper into Peter's writing, he begins to question what the true subject of the novel is, and whether he is simply an assistant or a central part of the plot.
