Battle of the Queens - Kampf der Königinnen

"Battle of the Queens" is a home-grown film that captures the cow fight (not bullfight), a traditional event in the southern sunny region of Switzerland, in documentary form. The fight itself is a snorting back and forth, an explosion of muscle and mass, archaic and wild. A dance of forces weighing tons in black and white, rhythmically interrupted by shots detached from time. Carried by the strands of various supporting characters such as the dedicated farmer with his cow, the radio reporter at his first real test and the teenage moped gang trying to catch a cowgirl's eye.
